Alexander Bruehl joined the Atlas Venture Boston office in 1998. Having been involved in several US high-tech startups like Omnia Communications sold in 1999 to Ciena Communications and Castle Networks sold in 1999 to NASADQ listed Juniper Networks Alexander returned to Germany heading the Atlas Munich office from 1999 to 2008.
He made early stage and growth investments in IT, Media and Telecommunications companies, e.g.:
– Lead investor in Systemonic AG, Germany, one of the world’s first 802.11a/b WIFI chipset companies, sold to Philips Semiconductors (now NXP) in 2002.
– Lead investor in Virtuallogix Inc., CA, the leading Virtualization technology company for connected devices.
– Lead investor in Datango AG, Germany, a profitable, international enterprise software company with solutions for application roll-out and online help. Sold to SAP AG in 2012.
